The future is coming: the festival of science, technology and art Geek Picnic 2018 will be held in Kolomenskoye Park, Moscow, on 11-12 August weekends. It is the one of the largest festivals aimed at the development of domestic and foreign science.
This year, the Festival will be divided into a few separate zones (tracks) with an expanded program for every taste: biotechnology and space, ecology and virtual reality, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence, adults only, digital law, etc. In addition to the educational zone, exhibition entertainment areas with a variety of creative and technical innovations, a picnic area, an exhibition of robotics will be open for everyone.
Children's animation technopark on the basis of Kalibr JSC prepared a master class “The Evolution of Visual Effects in Cinema”. Different scenes from old and new films will be presented to visitors for comparison - from mechanics to fully virtual reality. Technopark teachers will briefly describe how such effects are created and, in real time, together with visitors, they will try to reproduce the same effects using a virtual reality helmet and augmented reality glasses. During the festival, teachers will also talk about the activities of the children's technology park and the opportunities of existing classes and laboratories.
